US auto safety regulator are evaluating rollout of Tesla Cybercab
Tesla has commenced offering rides in its Cybercab robotaxi across limited parts of Austin, Texas. The autonomous car is a two-seater that comes without steering wheel or pedals.
New Delhi: Tesla has confirmed that it has commenced offering rides in its Cybercab robotaxi across limited parts of Austin, Texas. The two-seat electric vehicle is built to operate without conventional controls, and doesn’t feature steering wheel or pedals. CEO Elon Musk has gone on to say that the Cybercab will be key in turning the brand into a major force in driverless vehicles.
The rollout has drawn attention from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which said it is in contact with Tesla and assessing the situation. The agency hasn’t provided further details about its review.
