McLaren introduces McL 6GT concept; brings manual gearbox back after 34 years

McLaren have introduced the McL 6GT taking cues from Bruce McLaren’s M6GT and is the first supercar from the supercar since F1 to feature a manual gearbox.

New Delhi: McLaren has introduced a new supercar at the Monterey Car Week, and it has brought back a real manual transmission. It is called McLaren McL 6GT and takes inspiration from Bruce McLaren’s M6GT, the unfinished road-car project that the brand’s founder had envisioned. Even though the original one never made it to production, McLaren has said that the new McL 6GT will eventually become a production car in 2028.

McLaren is yet to reveal the full technical specifications of the McL 6GT. However, the concept has been confirmed to come with a V8 internal-combustion engine. The powertrain........
