New Delhi: Land Rover Classic is giving a modern performance twist to the final generation of its old-school Defender. The new Works V8 Conversion replaces the Puma-era diesel engine in eligible L316 Defenders with a naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8.
The engine makes 405hp and 515 Nm of torque and is paired with an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox. The engine swap comes as part of a bigger upgrade package. It also includes revised suspension, brakes, wheels and other chassis components for Defender 90 and 110 models built between 2007 and 2016.
