Dhinakaran has declared that his party will rejoin the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) only on the condition that the chief ministerial candidate is changed. This demand is a direct challenge to the leadership of AIADMK chief and current NDA CM face, Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS).

With just seven months remaining until the state assembly elections, Dhinakaran’s ultimatum introduces fresh uncertainty into the political landscape. The statement comes shortly after his announcement to withdraw his party from the alliance, citing poor handling by the Tamil Nadu BJP leadership under its new president, Nainar Nagendran.
