Joe Root has scrapped England’s midnight curfew after returning as Test captain, urging his players to act responsibly and take ownership of their behaviour ahead of the three-Test series against Pakistan.

New Delhi: England Test captain Joe Root has removed the team’s night curfew, insisting that he wants his players to take responsibility for their actions rather than operate under strict restrictions. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had introduced new rules in July following the Ben Stokes and Gus Atkinson’s nightclub incident.

The new guidelines included a midnight curfew, in which the players were required to inform the management if they were out of the hotel after 10 PM. They were also instructed not to appear in public........
