Tencent invests Rs 10 crore in India’s gaming and animation sector amid creator economy boom
Tencent has announced a Rs 10 crore investment in India’s gaming, animation and creator economy through new partnerships with SEPC and GDAI. The initiative will focus on skill development, mentorship programmes, student game jams and global collaboration for India’s AVGC sector.
New Delhi: Tencent is stepping up its presence in India’s fast-growing creator economy with a multi-year investment of more than Rs 10 crore focused on gaming, animation, visual effects and comics. The Chinese tech leader unveiled new collaborations on Friday to aid talent nurturing, industry training and international cooperation in the sector of AVGC in India.
The firm has signed two MOUs with the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) and the Game Developers Association of India (GDAI).
