NDA nominee CP Radhakrishnan elected Vice President, receives 452 votes
New Delhi: NDA nominee CP Radhakrishnan has been elected to the post of Vice President of India. He got 452 first preference votes as opposed to 300 received by his rival and INDIA bloc candidate B Sudershan Reddy.
Radhakrishnan, a senior leader with deep roots in the RSS and the BJP was elected as the 15th Vice President of India. The 67-year-old leader, hailing from Tamil Nadu, is the third from the state to assume the post.
The election was held from 10 am to 5 pm, with members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha forming the electoral college. Thirteen MPs........
