Five baby orangutans in Odisha: India, Indonesia coordinate on return of rescued infants

New Delhi: Five baby orangutans found in a forest in Odisha have triggered concern over a possible international wildlife trafficking network, with Indonesian authorities now working with India to bring the animals back. The infants were found in Balasore district on September 8 and have since been moved to Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar.

Indonesia’s Ministry of Forestry said the animals appear to be Sumatran orangutans based on an early examination.
