New Delhi: Google is adding another safety layer to Android smartphones as scam messages continue to grow across SMS apps, WhatsApp chats and social media DMs. Many of us have received a suspicious message at least once, sometimes pretending to be a delivery update or a bank warning.

To help users avoid falling into these traps, Google has given Circle to Search and Google Lens a new role. Both tools can now help identify if a message might be part of a scam operation trying to trick users into clicking risky links or sharing personal information.
