Hands-Free Productivity: How boAt Crest AI Could Change What You Do on the Move
boAt Crest AI brings AI-assisted voice features to select earbuds, allowing users to ask questions, handle Gmail and Calendar tasks, and use real-time translation without constantly reaching for a phone. The platform is currently available on three boAt earbud models.
People spend a lot of time on the move these days. A daily commute, a gym workout or even a short break between two calls can also be a chance to listen, talk or finish a quick task. Earbuds are now used for much more than music. People use them to take calls, send replies, listen to podcasts and stay connected while they are away from their desks.
What has changed recently is what those earbuds can do once they are in your ears. On 22 September 2026, boAt announced its first smart audio devices built on boAt Crest AI, an AI platform the brand has developed with Google Gemini. boAt calls the idea Intelligent Ears: earbuds designed to listen, understand, converse and assist.
The thinking behind it is simple enough. Using AI today usually means picking up a phone, opening an app and looking at a screen. Crest AI moves that layer into something people already wear for hours at a stretch. No screens. No scrolling. No opening apps. Just talk.
Crest AI is rolling out first on the boAt Airdopes Prime 800D, and is also available on the boAt Airdopes Prime 701 ANC and the boAt Nirvana Ion ANC. Here is a closer look at what Crest AI does, and how each of the three models fits into the daily routine of someone who is often working, travelling or multitasking.
What Crest AI Actually Does: Ask, Assist, Translate
Crest AI is built around three capabilities that sit at the centre of the experience: Crest Ask, G-Assist and Crest Translate. Or, put more simply, Ask. Assist. Translate.
Crest Ask handles conversation. Users can ask questions, work through an idea, look something up or keep a back-and-forth going without typing a query or reaching for a phone. Follow-up questions work the way they would in a normal conversation, so the exchange carries on through the earbuds.
G-Assist takes that from conversation to action. It works across Google Gmail, Tasks and Calendar, which means everyday communication and productivity can be handled by voice. A request such as “summarize my day” or “reply to an email” is enough to check a schedule, manage a task or get through the inbox, without the phone leaving a pocket.
Crest Translate covers the language gap. It supports real-time, two-way translation........
