BIS Ghaziabad action in Meerut: Gas stoves, pressure cookers seized over licence violation

The Bureau of Indian Standards has seized around 1,795 kitchen products and components from a manufacturing unit in Daurala, Meerut. BIS said the products require mandatory certification and alleged the unit was manufacturing them without a valid BIS licence.

Ghaziabad, 19 August 2026: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Ghaziabad Branch Office (GZBO), conducted an enforcement action at a unit located at Gulheda Chauhan, Police Station Pallavpuram, Daurala, Meerut, based on information received regarding violation of applicable BIS requirements. During the action, approximately 1,795 gas stoves, pressure cookers and cooking utensils/components were seized.
