New Delhi: Jameel Hussain alias Naeem, the prime suspect in the brutal murder of five family members, was killed in a police encounter in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. He carried a Rs 50,000 reward on his head.

Naeem was tracked down to Madina Colony on Saturday morning. After an exchange of gunfire with police, he was fatally wounded and declared dead at a hospital, police said on Sunday.

Naeem was the prime suspect in the January 9 murders of his stepbrother Moin, Moin’s wife Asma and their three young children at their Lisari Gate residence. The victims were found with head injuries, their bodies wrapped in bedsheets or stuffed into a bed’s storage compartment.
