‘Stop torturing citizens’: Bombay High Court orders FDA to pay Rs 5 lakh to Pune sweet shop
The Bombay High Court has revoked the suspension of a Pune sweet shop’s food licence after it scored 35 out of 36 in a re-inspection. The court also ordered Maharashtra FDA to pay Rs 5 lakh compensation for the prolonged closure.
New Delhi: A Pune sweet shop that remained closed for 34 days despite recording a 98% compliance score has received relief from the Bombay High Court. The court cancelled the suspension of Gurunanak Dairy and Sweets’ food licence and directed the Maharashtra Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) to pay Rs 5 lakh in compensation.
