Dehradun: The counting of votes for Uttarakhand’s 11 municipal corporations and 100 municipal bodies is currently underway, determining the fate of 5,405 candidates who contested the urban local body elections. The elections, held on January 23, 2025, recorded a voter turnout of approximately 66%, which was lower compared to the previous elections. While voting was largely peaceful, a few incidents were reported, including protests over missing names on the voter list.
