Ranchi: In a shocking case of cybercrime, a woman from Ranchi, Jharkhand, was digitally trapped and cheated of around Rs 60 lakh by two fraudsters pretending to be CBI officers. The incident took place in Ranchi, where the victim, the wife of a Jharkhand government officer, was targeted by cybercriminals.

The woman was threatened over a video call and told that she was involved in a money laundering case. The fraudsters claimed they were CBI officials and said she would be arrested if she didn’t follow their instructions. Scared and confused, the woman transferred Rs 60 lakh to a bank account provided by the criminals.

She filed a complaint at the CID’s cyber crime police station on 28 March 2025.........
