​Guwahati: A wild male elephant that was wandering in severe distress with a massive heavy tyre stuck around its neck in the Bakial forest-block area of Morongi, under Assam’s Golaghat district, has been successfully rescued and relieved by the state Forest Department. The prompt operation successfully saved the animal’s life, allowing it to return safely to the wild.
