New Delhi: Cometh the hour, cometh the man! Before every Budget session takes place, there is immense pressure of performance on the incumbent government, this year was no different and prime minister Narendra Modi (including his cabinet of ministers) came into the war-zone fully prepared. As per usual. By first setting the middle class narrative in his political campaigns and building hopes in the minds of millions, Modi had already won half of the battle. But today, he managed to win the war! By rightly zeroing in on the middle class, a segment that has been both a backbone of the economy and a key voting bloc, the Modi government’s Budget 2025, has shown the way towards economic prosperity and political gameplay.

Talk about killing both birds by the same stone!

Over the years, PM Modi has consistently shown that he understands the aspirations and struggles of the middle class. Whether it’s through tax relief, affordable housing, or financial inclusion, the policies of his government have been focused on enhancing their financial security and well-being. He understood that with rising costs in education, healthcare, and housing, the middle class needed tangible relief. This year’s budget reflects that clear understanding.

With tax exemptions up to Rs 12 lakh, empowering families to save more, invest wisely, and secure their futures, the present dispensation has shown the way. Modi has always known that a strong middle class is the foundation of a strong nation, and his Budget strategy seems to underscore just that.

For long we have heard about reforms announced for the corporates or those that benefit the poor and the youth. But the middle class was continuously made to feel ‘FOMO’. While the economy was thriving on the spending power of this class, not much came their way, in terms of monetary relief or even redemption.
