Kolkata: Despite the turmoil in the equity markets, the mutual fund sector in India is expanding. That mutual fund SIP (systematic investment plans) has emerged as the preferred instrument of investment of choice in the country is evident from industry data. AMFI (Association of Mutual Funds in India) data reveal that monthly SIP inflow stood at Rs 32,297 crore in August. In January 2024, SIP inflow stood at a mere Rs 18,838 crore.
