New Delhi: This Independence Day, the Tricolour is set to become more than a flag fluttering from rooftops – it is being positioned as a symbol of participation, pride and a shared national identity. With Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 underway from August 9 to August 17, citizens across India are being encouraged to bring the Tiranga home, display it with dignity and share their participation through the campaign’s official portal. This year’s edition also carries special significance as it marks the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram.

The Ministry of Culture’s Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 campaign officially began on August 9 and will continue until August 17, covering Independence Day on August 15. The initiative was envisioned in 2022 under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and has since evolved into a nationwide citizen-led movement.

Citizens are encouraged to hoist the National Flag at their homes, participate in community events and upload a selfie with the Tiranga on the official campaign portal, harghartiranga.com.
