At least 20 people have died after a powerful magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck off eastern Indonesia on Saturday. The tremor triggered minor tsunami waves, damaged buildings across Flores Island, and prompted emergency evacuations in several coastal towns.

New Delhi: A powerful magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck off the coast of eastern Indonesia early on Saturday morning, killing at least 20 people and leaving several others injured or trapped under rubble. The undersea tremor prompted an immediate tsunami warning that remained active for around three hours before officials stood it down.
