New Delhi: The announcement of the construction of a Babri-like mosque in Murshidabad, West Bengal, starting on Wednesday, February 11th, has once again heated up the political landscape. Janata Unnayan Party (JUP) chief and former TMC leader Humayun Kabir has announced that construction of a structure modelled after the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya will begin in Murshidabad. While this decision has sparked a stir in Bengal politics, political rhetoric on the issue has also intensified in Uttar Pradesh.

According to PTI, he also clarified that despite the installation of a board dated December 6, 2025, technical procedures delayed the start of construction. Now, all necessary procedures have been completed, and construction will officially begin on Wednesday.
