Aditya L1 helps explain geomagnetic disturbances at dawn during solar storms

Observations by ISRO's Aditya L1 mission has helped scientists explain geomagnetic disturbances at dawn during severe space weather events. The observations were conducted during the solar storms of May and October 2024.

New Delhi: Scientists have used measurements by Aditya-L1, India’s first dedicated heliophysics observatory to explain unusual geomagnetic disturbances at dawn during strong solar storms. Two of the most intense storms during the peak of the ongoing Solar Cycle 25 occurred on 10 May and 10 October 2024.
