Woman damages property worth Rs 49,000 at Bhubaneswar airport after her flight is cancelled

A woman passenger allegedly damaged equipment worth Rs 49,000 at Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport after IndiGo cancelled her flight to Kolkata. Airport authorities filed a police complaint over her alleged unruly behaviour. A video of the incident also surfaced on social media.

New Delhi: Police have registered a case against a woman passenger who allegedly damaged airport property worth Rs 49,000 at Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport on Thursday.

Authorities identified the passenger as Mamoni Kharat. They accused her of unruly behaviour, damaging equipment and creating a ruckus in the departure lounge.

Kharat was scheduled to travel to Kolkata on IndiGo flight 6E 7352. The airline cancelled the flight after its staff detected a technical problem during a mandatory inspection before........
