US President Donald Trump may end the West Asia conflict without securing an agreement on Iran’s nuclear programme if Tehran fully reopens the Strait of Hormuz, according to The Wall Street Journal. However, Iran has demanded compensation worth billions of dollars, the withdrawal of American troops and an end to the US naval blockade before restoring marine traffic.

New Delhi: US President Donald Trump is prepared to end the West Asia conflict without reaching an agreement on Iran’s nuclear programme if Tehran fully reopens the Strait of Hormuz, The Wall Street Journal reported. Trump has reportedly discussed the proposal privately with senior aides as he prepares the ground to declare victory and end the conflict, the report said, citing US officials.
