Huge setback for MK Stalin as Madras HC rejects his plea over poll defeat in Kolathur

The Madras High Court dismissed DMK chief MK Stalin’s plea seeking the counting of all VVPAT slips in Kolathur, where TVK candidate VS Babu defeated him in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Stalin also challenged Babu’s election and sought a declaration that he had won the seat. The Election Commission questioned the maintainability of his writ petition.

New Delhi: DMK chief MK Stalin suffered a legal setback on Thursday after the Madras High Court dismissed his plea seeking 100 per cent counting of Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail slips in the Kolathur Assembly constituency.
