Eight Tamil Nadu students killed as car crashes into parked lorry in Kerala’s Thrissur

Eight people, believed to be students from Tamil Nadu, died after their car crashed into a parked lorry on National Highway 66 in Kerala’s Thrissur district. The impact badly damaged the car, forcing rescuers to cut open the vehicle to remove the victims.

New Delhi: Eight people died after their car collided with a parked lorry in Kerala’s Thrissur district late on Friday, police said on Saturday. The accident took place at around 11.40 pm on National Highway 66 at Panambikkunnu in Kaipamangalam.

According to police, the lorry stood parked along the highway when the car crashed into it. The eight victims came from neighbouring Tamil Nadu and were believed to be students. The group was likely travelling from Guruvayur towards Kodungallur when the accident........
