CJP leaders agree to remove posts against BJP’s Gaurav Bhatia after Delhi HC’s appeal

The Delhi High Court questioned CJP leaders over social media posts that attributed an alleged remark to BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia. Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka agreed to remove the posts within 24 hours as the court issued summons in Bhatia’s Rs 2 crore defamation suit.

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Thursday criticised Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokesperson Saurav Das for publishing an allegation against BJP national spokesperson and senior advocate Gaurav Bhatia without proper verification.

Das and CJP co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka subsequently agreed to remove the disputed social media posts within 24 hours.

Justice Tushar Rao Gedela made the observations while hearing Bhatia’s Rs 2 crore defamation suit against Das, Ranka, CJP and its founder Abhijit Dipke.
