Bengal man held over alleged terror links, wanted to travel to Afghanistan to fight Pakistan

Bengaluru Police have arrested a 25-year-old security guard from West Bengal over his alleged links with a suspected Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan member. Police claim that the accused planned to join the outfit and discussed retaliatory attacks against the Pakistan Army and targets in India. Investigators have recovered chats, call records and audio files from his mobile phone.

New Delhi: Bengaluru Police have arrested a 25-year-old man from West Bengal for his alleged links with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and suspected plans to carry out attacks. Police identified the accused as Asafool Mallik, a resident of Naopara village in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district. He lived near APC Circle in Bengaluru’s Jigani area.
