'Will stand by whatever decision party takes': Fadnavis backs NCP on Sunetra’s Deputy CM bid
New Delhi: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said the ruling Mahayuti alliance will support whatever decision the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) takes on filling the vacant Deputy Chief Minister’s post, indicating the coalition will not stand in the party’s way.
His remarks come hours after the NCP announced that Sunetra Pawar, wife of late leader Ajit Pawar, will be nominated as the leader of the party legislature on Saturday. The NCP is also expected to propose her name for the Deputy CM position, with oath-taking likely the same day.
Speaking to reporters, Fadnavis said the decision rests entirely with the NCP.
