New Delhi: In a tragic incident, a Thai footballer died while playing after being struck by lightning during a local match. The footballer named Sofwan Awae was playing with his friends and teammates in a local game in Southern Thailand when lightning took his life.

While Awae lost his life, at least 12 other players were injured during the incident. A video of the same has gone viral on social media. In the video, the players can be seen playing football amid rain when lightning suddenly struck on the pitch, followed by a loud explosion.
