No IPL telecast in Bangladesh as JioStar scraps broadcast deal over payment defaults
There will be no IPL broadcast in Bangladesh despite the government's U-turn as JioStar has scrapped the deal with the local broadcaster over payment defaults.
New Delhi: There will be no broadcast of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 in Bangladesh as JioStar, the official broadcaster of the tournament, has scrapped its deal with the local broadcaster TSports in the country. TSports had sublicensed the media rights for the IPL from JioStar for Bangladesh. However, the deal between the two parties has ended owing to default in payments.
JioStar’s decision to end the agreement effectively ruled out the return of the IPL on local television screens in Bangladesh after the new government in the country signalled that it would allow the Indian T20 league to be telecast in the country.
