Gurnoor Brar can be India’s X-factor in Jasprit Bumrah’s absence: Ex-Sri Lanka all-rounder lauds pacer

A former Sri Lanka all-rounder believes pacer Gurnoor Brar can be the X-factor for India in the absence of senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah in the upcoming Test series between the two sides.

New Delhi: Former Sri Lanka all-rounder Farvez Maharoof believes Gurnoor Brar can be the ‘X-factor’ for India in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah in the upcoming Test series. India and Sri Lanka are set to lock horns in a two-match Test series, starting August 15. The first Test will be played at the Galle International Stadium in Galle.

Senior India pacer Jasprit Bumrah will miss the Test series after failing to recover in time from a knee injury. Bumrah was initially expected to make the cut for the series, however, persistent swelling in his knee forced the medical staff at the BCCI CoE to postpone his Test comeback for India.

In his absence, Mohammed Siraj will lead India’s pace attack consisting of the likes of Prasidh Krishna and Brar. Maharoof........
