The Issue: Trump’s $1.776 billion settlement with the IRS used for an Anti-Weaponization Fund.
We all heard that President Trump dropped his $10 billion personal lawsuit against himself, as president and boss of the Justice Department, and got a $1.8 billion taxpayer-funded slush fund for the Capitol rioters (“$1.776B ‘bias’ fund,” May 19).
But now, we find out that he also got a provision barring the government from pursuing tax claims against Trump, his family and his businesses. Boy, he sure can negotiate — especially when it’s with himself and it involves taxpayer money.
This is the most corrupt administration in history. Using government funds to pay off supporters to the tune of almost $1.8 billion — approved by a Justice Department controlled by Trump — is an affront to all Americans.
