We say: Pelley claims it never occurred to him that his vicious hostility toward his bosses and berating them in front of others risked getting him fired.

He can’t be that complete an idiot; the fathead clearly just figured he’s so amazing that he couldn’t be axed no matter what he said or did. The arrogance is beyond words.
