Pakistan’s energy consumers are facing  difficult winter, with the December-February period expected to bring severe gas shortages, electricity load-shedding and increased fuel costs amid rising international prices of coal, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and other energy resources.

The Power Division has described the coming three months as the toughest period for electricity consumers, as seasonal gas shortages and higher fuel costs are expected to place additional pressure on the country’s already strained energy sector.
