We appreciate the wonderful relationship our two countries have had since we burnt down the cottage that U.S. presidents used to call home, precipitating the construction of the illustrious mansion you now reside in, and are more than happy to show our gratitude by building the Gordie Howe International Bridge connecting our two glorious countries, including the US$250-million (C$338-million) customs plaza on the American side.
Many of us read your Truth Social post on Monday criticizing the bridge being built between Windsor, Ont., and Detroit, and saying that the U.S. “should own, perhaps, at least one half of this asset.” But we don’t take it personally. After all, who among us hasn’t gone on a regrettable social media rant about our neighbours?
