This week, a Scottish employment tribunal found that nurse Sandie Peggie was harassed by her employer, Fife Health Board (NHS Fife), after Peggie complained that Beth Upton, who identifies as a transgender woman, was given permission to use the female staff change room at the hospital where they both worked.
Peggie’s lawyer, Margaret Gribbon, has announced that she will appeal what she calls a “hugely problematic” ruling. Despite the positive finding of harassment, the tribunal dismissed most of Peggie’s claims, including of discrimination and victimization.
