As rents continue to skyrocket, landlords are using creative tactics to ensure a new tenant moves in, which include giving them discounts.

According to the Zillow June Rental Report, 39.7 percent of rental listings on Zillow included some form of concession, up from 35.2 percent a year earlier. For many of the rent deals, landlords will offer different options to attract tenants without damaging a unit’s value, which includes a move-in discount, a free month’s rent, waived fees, or free parking.
