OpenAI’s Startup Fund and Thiel’s Founders Fund joined a $45 million seed round for cancer detecting brain implant company Coherence. The investment comes at a time when brain implants are moving from the realm of science fiction to reality, and tech giants like OpenAI are increasingly throwing their money behind the ambitious startups making them.
