Prime summer vacation period is upon us, explaining why many workplaces now count fewer employees at their desks than usual. Meanwhile, many remaining workers are also likely feeling tempted to enjoy the season’s long, hot days by snagging a few extra days off by taking bogus sick leave. Why suspect that’s happening? Because nearly half of managers cop to using the very same dodge to bag more fun-in-the-sun leisure time for themselves.
