Retirement communities don’t get much more star-studded than the one seen in Netflix’s new film The Thursday Murder Club.
The much-anticipated new movie adaptation of Richard Osman’s best-selling mystery novel of the same name is finally available to stream on Netflix, quickly shooting to the number one spot on the streamer’s most-watched ranking.
At the centre of it all are Dame Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Sir Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie who play a quartet of retirees who solve cold murder cases in their spare time.
In addition to the A-list main cast, there are plenty more award winners and big-name stars among the cast of The Thursday Murder Club. Here’s where you’ve seen them all before…
Dame Helen Mirren
Helen Mirren in The Queen
The British national treasure is known for portraying royalty on screen over the years, most notably in her Oscar-winning performance as Queen Elizabeth II in 2007’s The Queen.
She’s also landed Academy Award nominations for her roles in The Madness Of King George, Gosford Park and The Last Station, along with Bafta nods for Hitchcock and the TV mini-series Prime Suspect: The Last Witness.
Some of her other memorable performances include The Tempest, Eye In The Sky, Red, The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover and the Fast & Furious franchise.
More recently, you might have watched her in the British crime drama series MobLand (alongside her Thursday Murder Club co-star Pierce Brosnan) or heard her narrate the Barbie movie.

Pierce Brosnan was the fifth actor to take on the iconic role of James Bond, starring in four movies during his tenure as 007 between 1995 and 2002, including Tomorrow Never Dies and Die Another Day.
Since then, the Irish acting legend has gone on to feature in movies like The Ghost Writer, Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, The November Man and Black Adam.
He also landed Golden Globe award nominations for the 2005 comedy-thriller The Matador and the 1982 BBC series Nancy Astor.
But who can forget the second most iconic role of his career, the dashing Sam Carmichael in the Mamma Mia! film, or his supporting role in another Chris Columbus offering, Mrs Doubtfire.
