Trump Unveils Plans For His Presidential Library And... Um... Wow

The towering presidential library is set to be built in Miami.

Eric Trump on Monday unveiled a video teaser depicting the planned library for his father, President Donald Trump.

Eric Trump said he’s worked for six months on the project, which will be built in Miami:

The skyscraper in the video features at least two oversized golden statues of the president with one arm raised, as well as a former Air Force One, possibly the jet he received as a “gift” from Qatar, which Trump said will go to his library after his presidency ends. It also appears to have a replica of his planned White House ballroom, his Oval Office, a replica Rose Garden, a giant outdoor video screen showing Trump and more.

But there’s one thing the video of the proposed presidential library didn’t show: books.

The video, possibly AI-generated, also had several flaws. The former Air Force One, for example, includes a golden escalator over a wing in one scene that is absent in the others.

In another shot, the text on the side of the plane ― which should say UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ― is garbled:

Senator Elizabeth Warren (Democrat, Mass.) said last year that a number of major US corporations – including Meta, X, Disney, Paramount and more – have pledged tens of millions to the library.

“The timing of these donations – coming while Trump sits in office and makes critical decisions that may impact the same donors – raises serious ethical concerns about potential bribery and Influence-peddling,” she wrote in an analysis. “Many of the gifts came in the form of settlements to Trump-filed lawsuits.”

The Miami Herald reported that Trump’s library foundation, which has nonprofit status, planned to raise $1 billion for the project.

Trump’s critics roundly panned the new renderings of the planned library:
