The long struggle for gender recognition reforms in NSW
The final slate of reforms from the Equality Amendment Act came into effect on July 1, marking a significant step forward for transgender and non-binary people.
The new LGBTIQ rights laws, introduced by independent Sydney MP Alex Greenwich and passed last October, aim to bring New South Wales into line with the rest of the country.
