Kashmir’s tourism industry is yet to recover fully from the shock of the Pahalgam attack in April 2025. The latest official figures offer little room for complacency. After attracting nearly 3 million tourists in 2024, the Valley recorded just over 1.11 million arrivals in 2025. While the numbers have improved in 2026, the recovery remains uneven, with foreign tourist arrivals continuing to lag. The challenge now is to restore confidence, and ensure that tourism-dependent businesses are not left struggling through another difficult season.
