Faith Beyond Formulas
There is a famous principle in mathematics that any non-zero number raised to the power of zero becomes one. A student of mathematics understands it as a beautiful rule that maintains harmony among numbers and their relationships. But imagine a person standing before an audience and declaring that this formula itself proves the existence of One God. His argument is simple: if everything in this universe becomes zero, there will still remain One — the Almighty. The audience is impressed. A mathematical formula has apparently been connected with a spiritual truth. Then another person rises to challenge him. Picking up an ordinary stone, he says: “This stone looks powerless, but it contains countless atoms. Inside atoms lies unimaginable energy. The more atoms, the greater the hidden power. Therefore, power is not in one but in many.”He too receives applause. The tragedy is that both have used the language of knowledge without respecting the discipline of knowledge. The first has turned mathematics into theology, and the second has converted physics into a........
