'I just got engaged but didn’t mean to - how do I get out of it?'

I just got engaged but didn’t mean to!

My girlfriend and I were on the dance floor at my friends' 30th party, and like most people, I was singing along to Bruno Mars' song Marry You.

She assumed I was singing the words “I think I want to marry you” to her, and the next thing I know is she’s jumping around shouting: “Yes, yes, OK, let’s do it.”

Her friends started congratulating us, and I stupidly went along with it.

(I think I was in shock).

The next morning, I hoped it was all a bad dream until she woke up and asked when we were going ring shopping.

I didn’t have the heart to burst her bubble, so I cowardly mumbled:........
