During this time of year, I fondly recall when I organized a movie premiere in Geneva. It was fall 1995, and we arranged for Stuart Kleinman, the head of Jodie Foster’s Egg Pictures, to visit Hobart and William Smith.

Kleinman, Hobart Class of ‘77, was an enthusiastic film lover who, after HWS, attended NYU’s film school. In 1992, after a diverse career in entertainment production, he became the president of Egg Pictures where he was credited as the executive producer of “Home for the Holidays,” the film we premiered before the national screening, 30 years ago.

The story centers around Claudia, played by Holly Hunter, who comes home for a family Thanksgiving dinner filled with tension. As the meal unfolds, old grievances........
