The economic performance of Uttar Pradesh under the Bharatiya Janata Party is assessed. A closer look at the numbers show that they do not support the tall claims of the regime. Economic growth in the state has shown a sharp deceleration post 2016–17 and investment levels remain sluggish despite policy initiatives.
