Column: New Year's Resolutions

Well, do you make New Year's Resolutions?

I think we all do, but most of the time we don't write them down. You get winded climbing a single flight of stairs, and your body tells you, "Workout! You are in terrible shape!" And then you read an article that says you don't need to do the 10,000 steps a day to get the workout you need, 4000 steps will get you a lot of the benefits. You nod. You have just made a resolution. Well, am I saying forget the formal New Year's bunch? No, I'm not! What I am saying is use the formal "New Years" bunch as an added incentive. Look: none of us are perfect specimens, and if you shake your head and mentally say, "No; I'm already there." By omission, if you are saying that, then your first resolution should be, "Quit lying to yourself!" We all could improve on our life whether it is physical or mental, and if we are honest with our evaluation of our physical and mental state, we will use our focus and willpower to live a better and probably a longer life. Well, if you don't want to live your best life possible, stop reading this column.

My focus in this week's column is fairly simple, and it is to use some of the easiest ways available to help........
