TAIT: Two Edmonton volunteers could teach UCP government about compassion, selflessness

I wonder if Kevin Karius and Lenny Andrichuk have ever met.

They could have, both being sports fans.

But, their greatest common trait is their compassion for others, specifically for kids with disabilities.

Both gentlemen are walking away from the causes they love and should — certainly — hold their heads high with pride.

And their departures come at a critical time of people with disability in Alberta.

Karius: the character from Crooked Lake, Sask., who decided to jump into sports broadcasting, started in Yorkton and became part of Edmonton’s sports media on Global Television.

He’s the Sports 1440 morning man, with no signs of slowing down.

Well, maybe … just a little.

Karius added his name in 2003 to the Easter Seals golf tournament, which raised north of $160,000 this year, bringing the total $2 million.
